Every now and then, I like to change up the look around here by putting a different photo at the top of the blog. All of them are photos that I have taken (or were taken with my camera, if they have me in them), and this is a page to let the interested know more about them.
This is me, sitting in the English Teachers’ Office at Gymnazium Nad Aleji in Prague, late 2002. As I recall, I was sitting around one afternoon, waiting for a parent-teacher conference to start later that evening, and I decided to have a little fun by posing with this book – Taxidermy Step-By-Step. On the wall to the right, you can see the three things I put on the wall to inspire me: Abraham Lincoln, a postcard of a hedgehog, and a drawing of a fictional cereal called “Mr. Ted Flakes” (that’s kind of an inside joke).
This is not a subtle attempt to show that this blog is now taking on a more political tone. (Down with the Federalists!) No, this is just a picture taken in the Jefferson Memorial, January 2007, that I have a fondness for.
This is the beloved Hatar Ut metro station in Budapest. This is the station that I spent the most time in, as it was the most convenient to get to from my flat. Picture taken in April 2004.
This is the Assumption Cathedral, Dubrovnik. Here you can find the gold-plated arm, leg and skull of St. Blaise, as well as a piece of the True Cross… just in case you were looking for them. Picture taken June, 2008.
